Band Members
They started in 2001 in Wilmette, Illinois with both Pete and Joe as a pop punk side project from other bands they were in, with Patrick joining soon after. They went through drummers until they found Andy. They then recorded their debut album, Take This to Your Grave in 2003. It became an underground success, gaining fans and commercial success. The album is also cited as an influential blueprint for pop punk in the 2000s. Their next album was From Under the Cork Tree in 2005. It got a double-platinum award, and was their breakthrough to being successful, and also making Pete famous with his lyric-writing. They also received a Best New Artist nomination at the 2006 Grammy Awards. They then put out Infinity on High in 2007, which got at #1 on the Billboard 200. The next year, they put out Folie A Deux, which got mixed responses and sadly some undersold commercial success. They did release a Greatest Hits album called “Believers Never Die-Greatest Hits'' in 2009 though, before announcing their hiatus. They took a hiatus from 2009 to 2013, and during that time, Patrick had a solo album called Soul Punk in 2011, co-wrote with Bruno Mars and All Time Low, and also tried acting. Pete tried to form Black Cards, made a book called Gray, and helped host the show Best Ink. He also was trying to get better and manage having a child. Andy drummed with a few bands during this time, & managing his record label Fuck City. They all managed to stay close to each other though, and they say that the hiatus helped them figure themselves out. In 2013, they announced reuniting, and released Save Rock and Roll that year. It got to #1 on the Billboard too, and even has a Youtube video of all the music videos out together to show the story of the album, called the Youngblood Chronicles. They put out American Beauty/American Psycho in 2015, and got to #1 again with major success in 2 singles. Their recent album, Mania, in 2018, got to #1 again, making it their 4th album to get to #1 on the Billboard 200. Recently, they announced that they were in the Hella Mega Tour with Green Day and Weezer, but it got pushed back to 2021. They toured in 2021 at the Hella Mega Tour. In December 2022, they hinted at a new album in their hometown newspaper, & later sent postcards to fans & had more cryptic hints on the websites. In March 2023, they released their 8th studio album, So Much (For) Stardust, and had a tour in the summer.
